Can I start now?Before starting this course, you must FIRST register with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) and purchase a Parent Taught Driver Education (PTDE) Program Guide. If you have already registered with TDLR and received your PTDE Program Guide, you may proceed with this course.

The TDLR will charge you a separate registration fee that is not included or associated with our course fee. Please note that you will be required to submit the receipt from TDLR for the Parent Taught Driver Education (PTDE) Program Guide to the licensing office, when you are ready to apply for your Learner’s Permit (so, be sure to save it). Also note that the “Date Issued” on your DE964 certificate will be auto-filled by our system. The “Date Issued" on your DE964 certificate cannot be sooner than 3 days from your TDLR registration date. Be sure to register with TDLR FIRST, and once you receive your PTDE Program Guide, you may proceed with this course.
You will be given the option to receive the PTDE Program Guide via mail or email. We advise that you request the PTDE Guide be sent via email, as it is much quicker. Note that the Licensing office will also charge you a separate Permit and License fee that is not included or associated with our course fee.
